Japan was the first country to implement a small wide 3G network. 75% of Japan's population has a mobile phone. Japan has some of the advanced telephone network and the world of technology, although many feel that it is also integrated their systems, because they usually can not be used outside the country. This can be frustrating for all travelers to and from Japan.

There are three mobile phone technology used in Japan: PDC (personal digital device), CDMA (code division access many) and WCDMA.
